Dear List,
I spoke to our kinsman, Tom Camp, last night regarding his trip to
England. I won't try to steal his thunder, but he had a VERY
worthwhile trip. He has made numerous contacts in England and
has located someone who is obsessed with the history of the
Nazeing area. It is entirely possible that breakthroughs
will happen soon to prove our heritage.
I'm certain we will be hearing from Tom soon.
What I'd like to propose is that maybe we could form some
type of support financially for the church in Nazeing.
I was unaware, but was informed by Mrs. Day of Nazeing
that Tom has been instrumental in helping them add on
to the church. Prior to the addition, folks had to go
to an outhouse or the woods for a bathroom. This addition
was very costly in that the British Trust watched them
closely and monitored the improvements to insure that
the integrity of the original building was not compromised.
It is only from the interior of the church that it is
obvious the addition was made.
I don't know how this could be done, but I personally feel
an obligation to help in any way I can.
Tom did tell me that the English folks are amazed we are
in contact as a group and work together in tracking down
our ancestors. I am in awe of the possibilities!
In the meantime, I will be scanning my photographs and
information today to forward to Larry for posting on the
list.
