Cutie - This is an exploratory reply.
I am a descendant of Pyramus Camp and Margery G. Hawkins. My great grandmother
was their daughter Margaret Emma Camp who married Nathaniel Simmons. Their son
(my grandfather, John Wesley Simmons) was born in Augusta, Arkansas. The record
that I have shows that Pyramus Camp was buried 28 July 1871 in Union, Hot
Springs, Arkansas. According to my father, Margaret Emma Camp was 50% Cherokee
Indian. If this is correct, then Margery G. Hawkins was 100% Cherokee Indian.
You state that Harriet Camp Mason was 3/4 Cherokee. This appears to be an odd
percentage. I would think she would be 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc. --not 3.4. Perhaps a
person could be 3/4 if one parent was 100% Cherokee and the other parent was 1/2
Cherokee. Pyramus Camp and Margery Hawkins had a son, Julius Hamilton Camp who
married Sarah A. Mobley. They had a daughter named Henrietta born 11 April 1871
in Arkansas. Henrietta would be 1/4 Cherokee Henrietta is the only name that I
can find that is close to Harriet. I do not know who Henrietta married.
The State of Arkansas and the Cherokee blood make me suspicious that the Harriet
you are looking for might be Henrietta Camp, the daughter of Julius Hamilton
Camp and Sarah A Mobley.

this further with you.
Question: Where is the Honey Holler area of Arkansas.? I can't find it in my
atlas.

my Great Great Grandparents......I also have seen where is was called Katie
Mae...so I am little confused on that...she is in a book I have from Ark. and
I also have a picture of them in the paper...Her name in the paper is Katie
Mae...the picture in the book (which is the same Pic. as the paper)...has her
as Harriet.
