Al,
Sorry it has taken me sometime to get back to you, and I hope your
Christmas
and New Year was great.
I was not clear with you before on the fire. The survey company was the one
that had a fire, and the lady told me all records were lost. I wanted a
copy
of the survey to see how the cemetery was marked or recorded, she told me
that I could get a copy of this survey at the court house, maybe.
I have talked with Mrs. Adamson and she tells me that they owned all of the
cemetery, except one foot and that it was to be recorded. I would like to
know what happen after they sold the property, if they owned the cemetery
then what happen between that time and when Ruby Conner bought the
property?
Also Mrs. Adamson give me the name of Blood Camp as an owner of the
property
at one time, have you heard this name before and do you know who he is?
Sarah and I are going back the court house tomorrow and she if we can find
the records that may show this easement of the cemetery to Walt Stephens
Rd.,
we plan to make a day of it.
Also thought you might like to know, remember when Sarah and I met with
Carole, her son, brother, and mother in Sept at the cemetery? You could not
even see Seaborn's grave as the weeds and overgrowth was so bad. Well,
Sarah
and I thought we should make another trip and what do you think we
found????
I knew what had happen as soon as we drove up and parked next to Ruby's
house, you could not see any weeds are overgrowth, we went inside the ceme
tery and it has been completely cleaned again, we were there Sat., Nov.
30th
I went and got a newspaper and took photos with the newspaper in the
photo's.
Either Clayton County sent another crew out to clean the cemetery or Tawfik
did it. Clayton County must really love the old cemetery to clean it twice
in
one year and don't forget it's a private cemetery,......
The only good thing was that we counted at least 10 to 14 unmarked graves,
I
am going to have a video made of the cemetery and I am going to mark these
graves or rather flag them before the weeds can grown again, my daughter's
brother in law said he will be more than happy to do this and he has
cleared
using his equipment from his company.
Thanks,
Lora
