Ola Elizabeth Camp Johnson
Mrs. Ola Elizabeth Camp Johnson, age 81, of 150 Blue Ridge Ave., Boone, wife of the late
Hal G. Johnson, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 9, 2005, at Methodist medical Center in Oak
Ridge, Tenn.
She was born Aug. 19, 1923, in Rutherfordton, Rutherford County, to the late Robert Carl
and Sallie Ann Frady Camp. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of Greenway Baptist
Church.
Survivors include on daughter, Ms. Sharron Johnson, of Boone; four sons, Eddie Johnson, of
Boone, D. H. Johnson and wife, Barbara, of Kingston, Tenn.; Thurman Johnson and wife,
Robin, of Blowing Rock and Alton Johnson and wife, Christina, of Melbourne, Fl.; three
granddaughters, Kathryn Johnson of Coconut Creek, Fl.; Hope Johnson of Lorton, Va., and
Kerri Hodgson of Boone; six grandsons, Christopher Johnson and wife, Jennifer, of
Livingston, N.J., Brian Johnson and wife, Amy, of Albermarle; Matthew Johnson of Troy;
Brad Hodgson of Kernersville; Justin Hodgson and wife, Melisa, of Boone, and Dane Johnson
of Blowing rock; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Frady and Mrs. Ruth Conner, both of Rutherfordton
and three sisters-in-law, Madge Phillips and husband, Monk, of Columbus; Mrs. Dorcus
Morrow of Rutherfordton and Wanda Moose and husband, Hall, of Taylorsville. She is also
survived by six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Nick Camp.
Services will be conducted Friday morning at 10, at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens
Mausoleum Chapel, with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Entombment will follow in Mount Lawn
Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at Hampton Funeral
Service. At other times, friends may call at the Johnson residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenway Baptist Church, 880
