Pernecia "Necie" Fincher was (according to family stories) a member of
the Creek Nation. She married Moses Fincher (born Dec. 5, 183-, died toward
end of Civil War) on March 8, 1852.
Moses Fincher was from Ireland. Moses was in the Civil War and
according to the story he had walked home for a visit bringing jackknives to
his sons, John and Jim. On the way back he and some other men stopped to
eat some fresh peaches and then drank some cold spring water. He died
shortly after this from unknown causes.
Necie was a sister or half-sister to William H. Holder (Co. G 6 Ga.
Cav. CSA) born July 7, 1838 and died March 5, 1911 (buried in Camp cemetery)
and Andrew Holder, born July 12, 1862 and died Sept. 17, 1934 (buried in
Garden of Memories cemetery). The children of Moses and Pernecia Fincher
were:
1. Henry, b. Jan. 3, 1854, d. Oct. 24, 1941
2. Mary, b. June 26, 1861, d. May 20, 1916, m. Henry Camp,
bur in Starr cemetery ( He was 19 when married, she was 6 years older)
3. William John Fincher
4. Jane, m. Mr. Grooms (When Jane and Mr. Grooms died, they
were buried near a spring on the "old Grooms place" on Camp Hill. Harvey
Starkes bought the place. It is said that a headstone wasn't erected--only
a pile of rocks to mark the place.)
5. Sis
After Moses' death, Necie is thought to have married a Mr. Burl "Bud"
Camp. Burl was a brother to Henry Camp that married Mary Fincher. Necie
was called "ZGrandma Camp". She died at W. J. Fincher's house and is
thought to be buried in Starr Cemetery, Elkhart, Texas.

Camp Family,
I have typed all of these articals as they were written, spelling, and
all. As you can see in this artical, there was a mistake made as to which
of the Camp's "Necie" married in the marriage records, she married Josiah
"Joe" Washington Camp. her daughter married "Joe's" son Henry
Lumpkin Camp,
and "Necie's" brother or step-brother William H. Holder married
"Joe's"
daughter Sarah Ann Bethany Camp.
I checked the marriage records for "Necie's marriage records to Moses
Fincher but they were not in Anderson County. I also checked the marriage
records to see if "Necie" may have married to a McDonald in between the time
Moses died and she married "Joe" but found none.
I have found several instances in these court records that marriages
that ended in death or divorce the woman remarried using her maiden name.
