Hello,
I am conducting research into an old family cemetery in Douglas County, Georgia. It is
located near the Chapel Hill community, and is marked by fieldstones, but there are no
inscriptions. E. H. Camp purchased land very near the cemetery in 1868, and otherr Camp
family members purchased adjacent Land Lots even earlier. It is a long shot, but I wish
to inquire of you any information regarding the history of Camp families in or near Chapel
Hill, Douglas (former Campbell) County, Georgia. Could any of them be buried in this
cemetery? If you have comments or questions, please feel free to contact me at
770-345-0706. Thank you for taking the time to consider this inquiry.
Respectfully,
Neil J. Bowen

Neil,
I have some information on that cemetery and that area, but unfortunately I
haven't have time to scan it in. Since it looks like from your phone number
that you are in my area, just contact me by phone and maybe we can work
something out....

Neil:
Just a follow-up. If you are researching families in Douglas County, GA you
might want to read the book "DOUGLAS COUNTY, GEORGIA; From Indian Trail to
Interstate 20" by Fannie Mae Davis, Library of Congress Catalog number
87-50997, published by W. H. Wolfe Associates, Historical Publications
Division, P.O. Box 972, Roswell, GA 30088.
According to the info on the inside cover, it can also be ordered through
the Douglas County Courthouse.
If you are close by, you might want to visit the Douglas County library and
find Joe Baggett's work. It is a little hard to find, but it IS there.
