Sounds like a nice idea. Valerie is a lovely person and she told me of a
new book about Nazeing is forthcoming to America in Dec. Funny you wrote
this e-mail as I was about to ask her where to look for the new book. Will
try to send a contribution amidst national donations and local donations. We
visited Nazeing in Jan 2001. Margaret Camp Ahrendt

Subject: [CAMP-L] Nazeing
As I scurry around making plans for Christmas, the thought occured
to
me that I want to honor my father. Usually our church orders poinsettias
that may be purchased in memory or honor of an individual, but this
year we will be doing something different. Then the idea popped into
my head that the best way I could honor my dad, James Irvan Camp,
who died in 1976 would be to forward a donation in his name to the
little church in Nazeing. As we've discussed before, this is a tiny
working
Anglican church complete with a vicarage. I for one want to see
this
church preserved for many, many generations. I don't think that their
congregation base has the means to support it in the manner it deserves.
I have made small donations off and on before directly to the Warden
(we would refer to her as a Lay Leader or in other words a volunteer
leader who is a member of the church). I don't think she would
appreciate her address and name broadcast over the internet, so I
will find an address to post in the event any of you would like to make
a donation as well.
She has told me in the past that it is difficult for her to convert
donations
from American dollars to British sterling so I plan to exchange dollars
to sterling from a local bank that deals in foreign currency.
Hope you all have a blessed holiday season,
Carole
