Has anyone followed George Camp of Halifax Co [died ca 1802]back to the
Camp
line that was in New Kent Co.? I am certain there was a connection to the
Madison family. The reason being the will of Roger Madison probated in 1802
in Halifax Co. called this George Camp his nephew and appointed his executor
along with his only son Ambrose. Extensive research on Roger and his wife
indicate the connection was on the Madison side of the family. Roger was
born
in1710-1715 time period. Roger named his only son Ambrose, the given name
associated with this Madison family. This was the given name of the
grandfather of President James Madison. George Camp also used the given name
Isabella for his daughter. Isabella was the name of Ambrose' mother. My
thought is that John and Isabella Madison had a daughter who married a Camp.
Thomas Camp was a neighbor. See below.

Hello, Margaret - I have some information on this line of
CAMPs, but it may
not be anything more than what you already have. Please let me know if I
made any errors in this one.
Judy Canant
I got the information on this line from Margaret Scott Stubblefield
<mstub46(a)hotmail.com>, She found proof of who the father of George Camp was,
at the Court House in Halifax Co, in deeds, finding that Geo's father was
John of Mecklinburg and mother was Mary, in John's will., "The actual will is
not on microfilm and the Co won't photocopy the old books."

There were some connections to lines of mine with the MADISON family, and
that is why I tried to find out more on this line.
(Well, I am laughing now, as I just read my source for this line: Virginia
Genealogist, Vol 41, #1, p3-10. Article by Margaret Amundson, and information
from.Margaret Scott Stubblefield <mstub46(a)hotmail.com> I doubt if I have
anything at all that you don't already have. (smiling, and want to
compliment you on your research) :-)
