No, Joseph's father was Benjamin Camp, b. 1757 in Culpepper County, Virginia, d. 1832
in Walton County; Georgia. Benjamin's father was Thomas Camp III and his mother was
Winifred Starling. And if we take this back just a bit we learn that Delilah's
mother, Elizabeth Camp, is related to the rest of the Camps in our family tree.
Thanks for your interest!

Subject: [CAMP] Jennifer's suitcase
I've been following the e-mails re Jennifer's Camp suitcase with
interest since
I'm descended from Delilah P. Camp, who married James Franklin Nelson
16 May,
1827, in Monroe, Walton County, GA.
Delilah was the daughter of Joseph Camp and Elizabeth Camp (descended
from John
Camp and Mary Tarpley), and was born 4 Oct 1813 in Jackson County, GA,
died 7
Jun 1899 in Claiborne Parish, LA. If I can help provide information of
interest, or if you (Jennifer) find information about James Franklin
Nelson and
Delilah P. Camp in your collection, I would certainly like to hear from
you.
I'm especially interested in any information on James Nelson's early
life --
about all we know about him is that he was born in Virginia in 1805.
