It looks like Jonesboro is in Clayton Co., GA, just south of Atlanta. On
my road atlas, I-75 curves to go around Jonesboro, just south of the
Atlanta beltway/bypass.

same guy. HIs father was Cecilus (Cecil) Camp. (Cecilus' father
was
Samuel Durham Camp, who was born in Connecticut, served as a
quartermaster for a militia group from Virginia during the
Revolutionary
War, and was granted land in Georgia as a result. WW Washington
eventually migrated to Utah (he became a Mormon), and he lived in
Tennessee, and then Nauvoo, Illinois before settling in Salt Lake.
He
is buried in Salt Lake.
I'd be interested in more, if you know, on what part of Georgia
Jonesboro is
in, and any more you know about his residence there during the War
between
the States. Thanks!
