My name is Tim Beckman and I am currently conducting research on the
42nd
Indiana Volunteer Infantry.
My roster list 3 Camps; Andrew J. Washington P., and West H.
I would like to correspond with any Camp family members who might have
information on the above listed men.
Like I mentioned above, I am currently doing research on the 42nd Indiana
and have a web site dedicated to this cause. The address is:
http://www.42ndindiana.com
I am looking for any information on the men who were in this regiment. Here
is the type of information that I am looking for:
I would like the men's birth and death dates, his father and mother's names,
wife's name and children's name. Also, I would like to know his occupation
before and after the war, and where he lived. Also, I would like a short
military history of him, if possible. I would also like burial information
(where buried and grave # if known, as well as a picture of his grave stone
if available). I would also like a copy of any pictures you might have of
him in uniform or not. Please feel free to include any other information
that you might think would be of interest.
I will be posting bios of as many men as I have information about on the web
site. I would like permission to post your name and e-mail address after
his bio, as a contact. Also, I would like to have your full name and postal
address and phone number (for my records only!), if you do not mind.
My Great Great Grandfather, William Schwartz, fought in the 42nd, and was in
Co. H. He was wounded at the Battle of Chickamauga and was taken prisoner.
If I can be of any assistance, please let me know.
