Larealia,
I am sorry I mislead you yesterday. I checked my info at home and I was
confusing two different lines. Buck is right, Elizabeth was his cousin so
the fork in our tree came back together.

Larealia,
No, my info is that my great-great grandfather was Joseph (b. 1777) who
married Elizabeth (b. 1781), his second cousin, in 1799. My data is from
Vol. 1, pg 238, Camp-Kemp Family History by the Manns.... and later family
sources.....
Regards,
J. W. (Buck) Camp, Jr.

Buck and Judith, is this Joseph Camp the one who married Martha Camp.
I
think from memory they were both married twice and Martha's second husband
was Andrew Hindman. My husband's g-g-grandmother, Elizabeth Camp, was the
sister of Martha. Elizabeth's son, Charlie J. Camp, my husband's
g-grandfather, lived in the area you described which is west of Fairburn,
Ga. and just east of the Chattahoochee River. That area was Campbellton Co.
at the time. I am just wondering if this is same family? Larealia

Judith,
Would appreciate ANY info you can send me.
I have visited "Grandpa Benjamin's" house near Fairburn, GA on the EAST
side
of the Chattahoochie River, and I understand his father Joseph lived
on
the
WEST side just across the river, but I don't know the exact
location. I
travel to and through Atlanta quite often (I'm in Huntsville, AL), and one
of these days will go to the Douglas County courthouse and find exactly
Grandpa Joseph's homestead was.....
This info came from Annie Sarah Camp Johnston (her grandfather, whom she
knew, was a much youmnger brother of my great-grandfather, Joseph Walter
Camp), and Annie Sarah knew her grandfather well. Unfortunately , I just
learned that she passed away on the 14th (?) of October....
IF I can ever retire, I plan to locate and visit as many of the physical
locations where they lived as I can...... If that is interesting to you,
I
found a WebSite for maps that looks promising
(
http://www.goldbug.com/);
haven't used them yet.....
Any info would be helpful, especially the "earlier Camps."
Regards,
Joseph William (Buck) Camp, Jr.
