Judith,
Would appreciate ANY info you can send me.
I have visited "Grandpa Benjamin's" house near Fairburn, GA on the EAST
side
of the Chattahoochie River, and I understand his father Joseph lived on the
WEST side just across the river, but I don't know the exact location. I
travel to and through Atlanta quite often (I'm in Huntsville, AL), and one
of these days will go to the Douglas County courthouse and find exactly
Grandpa Joseph's homestead was.....
This info came from Annie Sarah Camp Johnston (her grandfather, whom she
knew, was a much youmnger brother of my great-grandfather, Joseph Walter
Camp), and Annie Sarah knew her grandfather well. Unfortunately , I just
learned that she passed away on the 14th (?) of October....
IF I can ever retire, I plan to locate and visit as many of the physical
locations where they lived as I can...... If that is interesting to you, I
found a WebSite for maps that looks promising (
http://www.goldbug.com/);
haven't used them yet.....
Any info would be helpful, especially the "earlier Camps."
Regards,
Joseph William (Buck) Camp, Jr.

Marjorie:
The answer to your question is simple....I'm probably confused.!!!....
I'm not really sure how I got on the "Camp net" in the first place, but I
have enjoyed all the information....would like to do better. I'm not sure
how the net anmd person-to-person comunications are arranged/established;
my
communications have been "weak and spotty" at best. Can
you explain to me
if the CAMP-L(a)rootsweb.com is the proper "address link" for
communication,
how it actually works, who is on it, it there a better way, etc.; and
more
importantly, what would be the most appropriate way for me to properly
"join
and communicate," both to individuals and to the
"group" as a whole (e.g.,
for "global" questions)?
As far as lineage (in reverse from the norm, starting from my present
grandchildren), it is Parker and Gray Camp<Michael Pierce Camp<Joseph
William Camp, Jr. (me)< Joseph William Camp, Sr.<Harrison Pierce Camp,
Sr.<Joseph Walter Camp<Benjamin Camp<Joseph Camp<John Camp<Thomas
CampIII<Thomas Camp (Jr.)<Thomas Camp<.........I'm at work without my
reference material, so I'm not sure if the last part is accurate....
Thanks for your inquiry...
Regards,
Joseph William (Buck) Camp, Jr.
