You said your grandmother joined the DAR, have you tried them?

Subject: [CAMP-L] newbie
Hello, I just signed up, hoping to close some unverified gaps in my
Georgia/Alabama Camps.
My maternal grandmother was born a Camp and I know she had one sister,
but I don't know if there were any boys, so they might be the end of
that particular family. There certainly doesn't seem to be any
information that I can find!
I believe she was born Callie Calvin (or Colvin) Camp, on 30 June 1899
in Floyd County Georgia. She later changed her name when she filed a
delayed birth certificate, to Lois C. Camp. Her sister's name was
Alice. Their parents were John W. (or William J., I've been told both)
Camp and Cynthia Ann Lumpkin Loveless. John (or William) was reported
to have been born 22 March 1855, married 29 August 1874 and died 1
December 1929. His parents were Thomas D. Camp (b. 6 April 1832, m. 26
July 1853, d. 8 August 1863 in Petersburg VA) and Elizabeth Ann
Burrows. Thomas' parents were Louis (or Lewis) Camp and Leah Daniels.
This must have all been documented at some point; my grandmother joined
the DAR and I think they're pretty picky about documentation, but there
were no records left after she died. I've been doing census searches
but nobody seems to be where she said they were when she said they were
there. Very frustrating (as I'm sure you know). Can anybody help? I'd
really appreciate it.
