Hi Mary
Yes I would like to have what you found on Capt.CAMP, DeWitt Thomas F.CAMP
was my late husbands
grandfather. He was born in Lowndes Co. in 1861. His father DeWitt C. CAMP
was killed at the Battle of
Shiloh in 1862.
Captian DeWitt CAMP would have joined the 2nd Regt. from Mobile Co.
Its a small world I find that my grandparents on my fathers side were born
in Lowndes Co. too
My grandmother was Fanny BARGANIER. Thanks so very much.

Hello CAMP Listers!
In searching the CAMP mail list archives, I was happy to see many Larkin
CAMP researchers. It was interesting to find an unusual number of
coincidences between Larkin CAMP and the Alexander ORR family that I am
researching. Alexander ORR is my gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather and I have
truly been stuck, as may be apparent, unable to find his birth parents
or the surname of his wife Martha. I am writing to ask the list if any
of you know of a 'family' connection between CAMP and ORR families. Or
perhaps they were just very good friends or acquaintances? Follows are
the 'coincidences':
Alexander ORR (b abt 1750) is in Rutherford Co NC on the 1782 Tax List,
as I saw Larkin CAMP was born there?
Alexander ORR sells 170 acre property in Pendleton District SC in 1800
to Larkin Camp
Jan 1806 Alexander ORR sells 200 acres in Shelby Co KY to David Clark,
which Alexander ORR had previously purchased from Larkon CAMP. (note
the 'o' in Larkon is as it appears in the abstracted deed)
Regards,
Nancy Orr Erb

I found and old Spanish-American War "Soldier's Memorial" of the 2nd Regt, (torn), Alabama, Volunteer Infantry. {LOMAX RIFLES] , Camp J-------------Ala. June 14th, 1898. Under Company Officers there is listed Captain DeWitt Camp.
There are about one hundred names listed on this roster. Will do lookup for reasonable length of time.DeWitt Camp was the only CAMP listed.
Would like to know where Camp J----------- is located. Mary Coleman Stewart, Lowndes Co., AL
Dear Tobi L. and all my other wonderful Camp research friends - I might
suggest keeping a list of new virsus you hear of - and to be leary of subject
lines that might not jive with who is sending - all of the virsus I have had
come thru my home computer have been from people I know - and they didn't
know a virus had attached itself to the unit - I have been lucky enough to
have recognized all of them so far & didn't open. I did however send a
warning back to my dear friends - one was a newly found 1st cousin - that
they had the virsus and might want to "clean" their computer.
As Tobi L. so aptly put it - "May all your computers be virus free"

My husband did get a .vbs attachments from one of his co-workers and he
opened it without thinking. Once they go out through the address book, they
attach themselves as Visual Basic Scripts i/o Executable attachments.
I have instructions from him never to open an .exe file so I know he would
have noticed one of those.

"I LOVE YOU" VIRUS! Was on the news here in Seattle....for your own safety
don't open anything with the subject line "I Love You"

Make it a practice not to open any e-mail when you don't know who it's from!
