Barbara,
Count me in as wanting a photo. I am a photographer and while I
appreciate scanned images, to me nothing beats an image on photographic
paper, made by a silver negative. I'd be more than happy to pay for
the cost of the copy negative, plus the first copy. Subsequent copies
should be cheaper. In fact, I would like to also have a copy negative
from your first generation copy print. I'm certain others I'm in
contact with here in Georgia would like copies and I'd like to have
a negative for my children to keep.
Thanks!
Carole
Thomas Camp was my great-great-great-greatgrandfather and I know next to
nothing about him, so I would love to have a picture of his home. I come
from his "second family" and second wife, Margaret Carney.
Until I started looking into the Camp family last year, I had no idea that
our family had any Irish connections, but since Margaret was born in
Limerick, Ireland, I can really celebrate St. Patrick's Day tomorrow.
Please let me know if the picture becomes available.

I realize that this is trivial information but it may give some
explanation to our frustrating problems in tracing the "Camp" name.
In the file (dist.all.last) one entry appears as:
CAMP 0.011 544.168 1067
In our Search Area sample, CAMP ranks 1067th in terms of frequency.
44.168 percent of the sample population is covered by CAMP and
the 1066 names occurring more frequently than CAMP. The surname,
CAMP, is possessed by 0.011 percent of our population sample.

Barbara. wouldn't a color copy reproduce well enough to scan and send as
e-mail? They are usually $1, but our Office Max store has them for 29cents
this week. With a scanner, the photocopy should reproduce really sharp, and
those of us with photo-quality printers could have a good print. But I know
many don't have those things. If you choose to have a professional copy
made, I'd be interested in ordering one.

Good idea, I will check into that. I don't know where my Office Max is, but I
will look it up. I guess they can scan it also, or Kinko's can scan it. I
will let everyone know what I can find out, it will be this weekend before I
get transportation.

Yes, I would be interested in getting a copy.
Incidentally, in response to the same query, I went on
www.switchboard.com and looked for Ehney Camp, with the following
results:
Ehney A. Camp, Wade Hampton Golf Clb, Cashiers, NC 28717, (828)743-5953
Ehney Addison Camp, Jr., 3605 Ratliff Rd, Birmingham, AL 35210-4512,
(205)956-1745
Ehney A. Camp, III, 3510 Victoria Rd, Birmingham, AL 35223-1404,
(205)967-0140 or
967-6091
I don't know if these are related, but since these are the only ones
listed for the United States it seems a good bet.

Okay gang, let's get back to Camp genealogy and stop any more threads on this
subject. Olivia has unsubbed and is gone. Let's not beat this dead horse.
I have a request from Tim Camp and his search for his Camp ancestors. His
father was Lloyd Conley and Lois Oliver Camp and his grandfather was Thomas A.
Camp. He is looking for any info on the Camps who migrated out of the
Shanondoah Valley in the late 1800's. If you have any info, please post it to
the list and also cc to Tim at ttcr(a)lcc.net Thanks.

Hello to all. I'm a new member of this listserv and have been intending
to post a query -- the message that follows (about Thomas Camp III and
his cabin in North Carolina) has prompted me to do so now.
Several of us Nelsons (see "Nelson Cousins" web site developed by Jim
Nelson, members.aol.com/nacanut/nelson/WC_TOC.htm) have been trying to
trace the ancestry of James Franklin Nelson who married Delilah P. Camp
in Walton County, Georgia, in 1827. He told the census takers that he
was born in Virginia in 1805, but we have no information on where in
Virginia, nor the names of his parents or any siblings. (James Franklin
Nelson and Delilah P. Camp Nelson were my great great grandparents.)
Since James Franklin Nelson and several of the Camps (Delilah's parents
were Joseph and Elizabeth Camp) moved together from Walton County to
Campbell County, Georgia, and several of them moved together to
Claiborne Parish (Homer), Louisiana, we have begun to wonder if we might
learn something by looking for Nelson families that lived near the Camps
at earlier locations. For example, an Archibald Nelson lived near them
in South Carolina and in Walton County, Georgia.
I'm likely to already have some of the answers in the stacks of family
tree information that I have accumulated the past couple of years but, if
anyone has information readily available, I would appreciate hearing
anything you might know about other Nelson-Camp relationships from
Georgia back to South Carolina to North Carolina and to Virginia.
Thanks for any leads. (And, if you don't feel your reply is of interest
to the rest of the listserv group, please feel free to reply directly to
me at ggn.djn(a)juno.com)

It would be nice to cut down on the trivial matters and keep this confined to
things of importance to all.

In reply to an unsubscriber. When people get too busy to say thanks or are
intolerant of others' expressions of thanks, THEY ARE TOO BUSY. (I do
agree it might have been more considerate to use a private source,
however). Mary Frances

I recently ran across a copy of an old "Camp Bulletin" dated September, 1986.
In it was an article about Thomas Camp III and a picture of his cabin in North
Carolina. The copy was poor quality, which was to be expected, since it was a
copy of a copy, so to speak. It had been contributed to the Bulletin by
Ehney A. Camp, Jr. and Paul K. Camp. Does anyone know to get in touch with
either of these two men? I would like to request that the picture be
reproduced, if possible, and made available for sale. I'm sure many Camp
descendants would love to have a copy of this picture.
