Thank you for your Camp family information, and I am posting your request to
the Camp mail list in hopes that someone will be able to help. It would help
more if you could tell us when and where your grandfather was born, married,
etc. That would help narrow the search down.

Hello Cousins,
I am new to this list and am interested to see if anyone has uncovered any
new information regarding the James Camp married to the unknown
Ragsdale and was the supposed son of John Camp and Mary Tarpley.
I visited Princeton, SC last year and was impressed that someone saw
fit to transport John's body back to SC after his death in GA. Judging
from the history of the little church where John is buried, the Ragsdales
and Camps had a long history dating back to their days in VA. As a
member of the United Methodist Church it was gratifying to know that
our kinsman helped the Wesleys even if in an indirect way. Getting back
to James, does anyone know any additional information about him? Is
it possible he was buried in the family plot in Clayton Co. GA? This
plot is where James' grandson, James Seaborn Camp, is in the only
identified grave. I last visited that cemetary several years ago and was
disapointed to see that the current owner of the Camp homeplace has
bricked in the cemetary and was using it as a dumping ground. I live in
North Fulton Co. Ga. and would be more than happy to do any leg-work
if pointed in the right direction. Thanks for lending me your ear!

I don't have anything on the children, other than what is in your msg. I do
have quite a bit of 'collected' data on his ancestors and would be happy to
share that with you. I say 'collected' as it is not data I have researched
myself for the most part, but have gleaned from the internet, the Camp
Family Newsletter, and the Camp mailing list.
I would love to have any details you have on Larkin's descendants.... names,
dates, spouses, etc.
Larkin Camp is my 1st cousin, 5 x removed, so your wife and I are definitely
cousins!

Hello Lonnie:
Your wife and I share the same line, Burrell(Burwell) CAMP! I have listed in
my file a Larkin CAMP b abt 1767 and married_________Brewster. This is the
only Info I have on him. I list as other siblings, Sherwood b 3/09/1777 m
Lydia Kennedy b 2/15/1780. Sherwood was a Baptist minister. Thomas m Miss
Hamby and moved to Arkansas, Bradford who moved to Louisiana b 9/05/1764,
Burrell, who we both know, Hosea who moved to Alabama, Sarah b abt 1767 and m
John C. Calhoun and last Larkin. Do you have both Camp/Kemp Books? I had done
most of my research before I purchased these books but found much of our
information to be the same which made me feel very good. I would like to share
any and all information on this Camp line of mine. If Burrell is your wife's
line which child of Burrell's and Eliz. Moore's does she descend thru? My next
line is Seaborn Marion Camp b 1810 in Ga. My own brother is named Ernest
Marion after our grandfather Reuben Marion Camp. I found it very interesting
that neither my brother nor I had any idea that the name went that far back.
Let me hear from you if this helps!
Patricia Camp Mullis
I am wondering if you have a marriage date and place for Larkin Camp (#28336)
and Margaret Brewster. We have the birth and death date, but cannot find
mention of a marriage date.

Hello Patricia,
My wife is a Camp descendant through William Lewis Camp who was in the Arab,
Al area of Marshal Co. Would be interested in the name of the cemetery where
your folks are buried. Still a lot of Camps and relatives in the area. Might
want to look at my homepage(nothing special) at

Thanks in advance,
