I think we've corresponded before--snail mail. Where is the Carrie Camp
memorial library, and do you specialize in Camp material?
I have my Camps 'way back, thanks to the Manns, but would sure like to know
more about my great-grandfather's family. Caswell Jordan
Camp was b. 1852 in Panola co, TX and his dad died 1857. According to
Biography data from Gospel Preachers book, Caswell's father died when he
was a child, and his mother moved back to GA. He returned to TX in 1867,
allegedly "running away from home".
On Caswell's death cert. were the parents JOHNSON CAMP and EMILY T. LACY.
That's all we know about them, except we have learned Johnson's parents and
ancestors. One of them was part Indian, probably Choctaw.
