Hi!
These are my direct descendants and I even have a picture of Henry
(computer) from a relative in Australia who owns the original.
Henry and Jeanne were my great, great, great grandparents on my Dad's side
with Camidge being my maiden name.
Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Marcia David

At last I have managed to put together some more information on my CAMMIDGE
side. It is a couple of years I think since I first mentioned that I have a
link into CAMMIDGE, via my gt-grandmother (Mabel Annie FLINTOFT) marrying Harry
CAMMIDGE. it is not a direct line for me, as I am descended from one of Mabel
Annie's illegitimate children. It is unlikely that Harry was the father, but
as it is a fairly rare surname, and of course, Mabel Annie and Harry's
subsequent children are part of the family, I felt that I ought ot do some
investigations. The release of the 1901 census provided a key bit of information, and
then tying in with the 1891 census of Yorkshire CD that I have, plus of course
the 1881 Census, and the online IGI, I have been able to piece together a
couple of generations back. Before I go any further, I thought it would be
worthwhile to check if anyone else recognises some of the names, and has any more
information.
Henry CAMMIDGE = Jane ......
....1 George Henry CAMMIDGE, bp 1843, Holy Trinity, Goodramgate, York, m 1868
at Holy Trinity, to Margaret RINGROSE, (bc 1847, York - probably bp 1847 St
Michael le Belfry York, dau of John - John RINGROSE was present in 1881 census
with family of George H CAMMIDGE in Acomb)
.......2 Jane bc 1869, Dringhouses, present in 1881 census, Acomb
.......2 Fred bc 1871, Dringhouses, present in 1881 census, Acomb
.......2 John b1873, Dringhouses, present in 1881, 91 + 1901 censuses, Acomb
.......2 George b1874, Dringhouses, present in 1881, 91 + 1901 censuses, Acomb
.......2 Margaret b1876, Dringhouses, present in 1881 census, Acomb, but not

4 children

.......2 Albert, bc 1893, was witness at brother Harry's wedding in 1921
.......2 Frederic, bc1899, according to 1901 census index was b Suffolk, but
need to check on this.
....1 Mary Jane, bp 1845, York St Margaret
I have not been successful yet in finding any other siblings for George Henry
apart from Mary Jane, nor any details on Henry and Jane. The IGI showed a
marriage of a Henry CAMMIDGE and JANE FENTIMAN 19 DEC 1842 at Saint Anne Soho,
Westminster, London, but this is 200 miles from York, and I struggle in
accepting it at the moment. I need to check the 1851 census indexes for York area,
which is a nuisance as I was in York Library between Xmas and New Year looking
at these same indexes for another purpose, and now I am back home which is
100 miles from York.
Anyway, any names that anyone recognizes?
Best regards
