<< Hi there this is Melissa Camidge. I do have a
question and I was wondering if someone could answer
it. Well a few years back my dad got some info. about
the Camidge name and it said that our ancesteres were
vikings. Does anyone know if that is true? It is
very cool to have gotten that info. when we get this
thing started maybe we could find away to display this
info. Do you think that is a good idea? Well I'll
let you go.

REPLY: Thank you, Melissa!! Hurray! Someone is actually talking!
;o) Ha-ha!
I asked Cliff and he said as far as he knows (from his brother
Mike-who has done most of the research) most of the CAMIDGEs appear to come
from Yorkshire, England around the 1700's. You can VIEW a family tree at
Mike's website -
www.camidge.org It is a FamilyTreemaker "family tree"
and
takes a little "doing" to navigate around on it - but it's really neat what
he's done and the research he's accomplished!! You can click on "boxes"
of
specific family members and see who they married (if Mike had that info) and
what children they had. He also invites any CAMIDGEs not on the list to
submit their family info to him and he will add them to the tree!
However, we can not say positively that there are no "Viking" roots -
that remains to be seen! ;o) Wonder where your dad got his info? We would
be most eager to find out about it! That is pretty neat!! Cliff has been
doing some searching on
Ancestry.com and has found some really neat Camidge
info. You can join
Ancestry.com and search their databases for $19.95
(three-month subscription).
Talk to you later!! Come on ... let's hear from some more CAMIDGEs,
too!! ;o) Don't be shy! ..... Warm regards to all... Carolyn and Cliff
