REPLY: 1922!! Wow! How much more have you been able to find out
about them? Do you have any idea what Joseph or Mary did for a living? How
many CAMIDGEs descended from Joseph and Mary and have you been able to find
or keep in touch with them?
This is not CAMIDGE-related, however it is interesting and
"genealogy-related"; in my quest to find information on my father's side of
the family, I have repeatedly questioned my 87-year old grandmother (born in
1912, married in 1935) about her life when she was growing up. One of the
things I found so amazing was when she told of a time when she was a very
young girl, the family was moving all of their belongings in a *COVERED
WAGON* with a "cow" tied behind it and a couple of dogs tied behind the
wagon! It really AMAZES me in this day and age of airplanes, automobiles,
AMTRAK, computers, etc. that my grandmother who is still living can remember
things like that!!
The pursuit of genealogy can be very, very fascinating! I think back
to times like World War I and II and The Great Depression. It wasn't that
long ago that our grandparents "lived it!" What interesting stories some of
the "older folk" can tell us if only we make the time and take the time to
spend with them!! .... thanks for sharing your info, Marcia! I noticed on
Mike Camidge's website -
www.camidge.org - that he has some of your info
posted!....
...warm and kind regards to all...Carolyn and Cliff
