Jean,
Another point to consider is that given a lisp, might have pronounced Robinson
ans Ro-b-thun caused a clerk to hear Row-bo-tham. Many names in the old
records suffered worse changes.

I will check out the CAMIDGE christenings and yes, I do have some records
going back on the Lancashire side.
William Robinson, yes it sounds interesting but I don't think it's mine,
though who knows about cousins etc.
I have the 1866 marriage certificate of Henry Camidge (widower) ) to Jeanie
Graeme Rankin showing father as Charles CAMIDGE deceased and Elizabeth
Camidge M.S Rowbotham, deceased. JEANIES SISTER MARRIED A HENRY McQUEEN and
moved to USA so there may be indirect links,
As some of the IGI are inaccurate, I am now aware of anything from CAMM to
GAMAGE.
I nipped up to the FHL yesterday and found the book of old maps and
parishes.Their photocopier is not available, it is being replaced in about
two weeks.
I posted the CAMIDGE CAMMIDGE pedigree yesterday.
I had an e-mail from Adrian Taylor yesterday.
Guess what? I am sticking to one name on the net, for now.!!!
Regards
Jean
