Hi Marcia
Please could you send me a full copy of everything on the 1900 census which
has your George on it. If I have a look at it, word for word and the dates,
perhaps I might put a different interpretation on it.
Also, could you copy everything from the front of the bible, I know it is
from Sadie's family but it might act as a guide to the approximate date
which George's ancestral family married or had children.
If your George emigrated to US in 1880, he could not be any of the George's
born in England around 1875 for they all appear on the 1881 UK census.
Hope to hear soon.
I'm trying.
Best wishes
Jean

Hi Jean,
Sorry that I have not replied before now. I homeschool two teens, I
drive
the Amish (they don't have cars and sometimes need to go farther
than
their
buggies allow. But they are not good at much advance warning.) and I
count
nuts and screws and nails and package them as a home based
business(although
I am not sure I will keep doing this as it takes over your life). I
have
been
very busy and my husband travels out of town for his work.
I have just been overwhelmed lately and Camidges have not been high on
the
list. I'm not sure I am high on the list either!! LOL
Yes I have a Bible but the marriage dates were for Sadie's parents. I
am
not sure when Sadie and George were married. I have a copy of a
census for
1900 that shows them married and living in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in
the
US with a boarder named Amy Fitzroy. It was enumerated ( info
gathered) on
June 1st or 2nd in 1900 and shows them married 8 of 12 months so they were
probably married around October of 1899.
It shows George being born in December 1875 in England and both his
parents being born in England. It says that he was Naturalized in
Pennsylvania. That he imigrated to the US in 1880 and had been in the US
20
years at the time of the census.
Interestingly enough, the boarder Amy Fitzroy shows she was in the US
for
10 years was only 19 at the time of the census and was married for 1
year
but
no mention of the husband or where he was or how she came to be a
boarder
with George and Sadie.
I do know that George was later married to Katherine and lived in St
Louis, Missouri in the US and that she lived there until her death.
More info later.

Thanks all for all your help and care!!! I would love to be able to find
George and his parents before my Dad dies. ( But don't worry he is very
healthy and feisty for a 75 year old!!)
