Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

I have inherited a copy of the above directory, and a scan through the larger
indexes within it revealed the following entries. As those of you who have used
Kelly's or similar will know, it is not anything like a census, and lists only
those with money or a trade. Your average ag lab or factory worker is not
listed. Also, just to pre-empt any enquiries, it is organised by village or
town, so no requests for John SMITH anywhere. You have to let me know which
village or town you want searched. The more specific the address, the more
likely that you will get the answer you want.

Hi Carolyn
Thanks for the reply I did not read the title properly
My Cammidge at this moment is Hanna/Ann Cammidge daughter of James Cammidge
she was born around 1765 York and James b.abt 1727 York , I think all the
York Cammidge connect somewhere
Karen

Hi Karen,
I have "not" done any follow-up on William Cammage. From the way I
interpreted the message (see quote below), I understood that there was "no
further information available" other than what was posted - from the person
who posted this message.

of the location of the land or any more info about the land
owner >>
Sorry! I guess the benefit of knowing that there is a William Cammage who
was a landowner in NRY is that you at least have that piece of information.
And, perhaps you could ask someone on the YORKSGEN-L mailing list who is
actually in England to physically do a "look-up" for you in land records.
If
someone is willing to do that, perhaps you could get more information that
way?
I'm afraid I'm a little too "green" yet in genealogy research to be of much
help to you. Perhaps someone else on the list will have a better suggestion
as to "how" to go about following up on this lead.
Is William one of your "most wanted" CAMIDGEs? What information, if any, do
you have on him now? If I should stumble across anything, I will be sure
to
let you know. .... Warmest regards... Carolyn Moses Camidge
