First of all, Many thanks to those of you who responded.
Secondly, Patricia H.L. would you please send me your
private email address? I sent you a message, but have
no idea it will go through.
As stated before, I am seeking the father of John M. Cameron.(b. ca.1818 d. June 21 1881)
He was listed in the 1850 census as a millwright. He was living
in Wayne County, NC, and was married to Amanda Melvina Cox.( b. ca. 1822 d. 1 March 19010
They were married 23 April 1843. (Dickson Family Bible)
She was a Quaker, and her father owned 3 mills, and was killed while
constructing the 4th one. in 1870 census, John M. was listed as a farmer.( Have no clue
what the M.
stands for.)
He lists his children as follows:
David Alexander 21 yrs. old (clerk in store) my line
Arch (ibald) F. 19 yrs. on farm
John Dallas 17 yrs. on farm
Pennina A. 11 yrs. old
Thomas Ruffin 6 yrs. old
Sara James 3 yrs. old
(This is consistent with information found in John Bruton Cameron's book, THE
DESCENDENTS OF
ALLEN CAMERON )
Their oldest son, James, (b. 1846) was not listed, so he must have left home.
The Wayne County line was VERY close Duplin County line at this point.
No further information.
