Howdy
Your line is definetly in Grainger Co Tn
and some brothers I( I recall 2 named Harden and Hardin)
And If my mind serves me a James
as well an Absalom who moves to Lawernce co Mo
and another born in Mo also
(There is a Patriarch in Grainger named Absalom)
This family gives me FITS!!!!
So many names like mine
Now they seem to have come from Va pre TN
Ive found in Va a very early Rev John Cameron
also another there had a will in 1850
sons Absalom, John and Thomas mentioned in will 1850
Now as for John Canaday Cameron
Your best bet is go to the Guru Ross Cameron
I think he runs Grainger genweb
But
Ive found he POSSIBLY may be dec of Camerons of PA
who arrived there aboard a ship the Clementina 1700s
From this line is Simon Cameron the Sec of State under Abe Lincoln
Your Mathes I think is from Jerimia Mathes
who married Florence Cameron who was sis of John Canaday Cameron
There is a good deal on these two in Genforum older listings
Good Luck
Thom C.

Hi Thom C, No I wasn't and I don't have anything on
Cameron's past my
Grgrgrandmother Florence Cameron, I have been stuck working on Mathews,
Mathes and Mathis as they all come from Alexander Mathews. I would love to
find more on my Cameron's. Gordy
