HI, Cuzzins! You may be interested in the below website where I found a
tad more on the Rev. John M. Camron. I would think one could buy the
book - or perhaps get it thru an ILL via your local library.

1750. DRAKE, JULIA A.
Flame O'Dawn; The Story of Reverend John M. Camron, Who Boarded Lincoln
at New Salem, [by] Julia A. Drake. New York, Washington [and] Hollywood:
Vantage Press, [1959.] 220p.
The lives of the Reverend John M. Camron and his family are recounted as
they move westward homsteading land in Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, and
California. Of special interest is a period from 1811 to 1836 when the
family lived in Illinois. During that period Abraham Lincoln is said to
have boarded with the Camrons and unsuccessfully courted one of the
Camron daughters. This vanity publication based on family history may be
exaggerated in some respects, but adds substantially to the Lincoln
legend.
There is also supposed to be a book on the life of Rev. John by one of
his descendants, Alice Purvine MURPHY. I can't find her or the book on
the Internet - maybe I just haven't come across the right website...yet.
Also - If you are interested in Duncan CAMERON, found the CAMERON FAMILY
PAPERS Inventory at:
http://www.lib.unc.edu/mss/inv/c/CAMERON_Family.html
the above is 80 pages - some good data on Duncan CAMERON. Historical
notes begin at the bottom of Page 2.
I haven't worked on the CAMERON line for a very long time - now I seem
to be mired in it!
Enjoy! Shirley: bobert(a)i-1.net
