I think you are on the wrong track with your Christopher "Charles"
Cameron. The sibling information at this link will help.

The Charles Cameron who became Marshall for Charlottetown PEI was one
of the brothers of my great-grandfather William Grosvenor Cameron.
Their father was John S. Cameron. According to a book about the
residents of Augustine Cove, PEI, John S. Cameron was descended from
John F. Cameron who emigrated to Canada with the Fifth Earl of
Selkirk in 1803, aboard a ship called the Dykes which departed with
two other ships from Portree on the Isle of Skye. These Camerons had
been tacksmen prior to the time of the enclosures in the highlands,
and they were probably made redundant when there were no more human
tenants to manage.
The Census of PEI has great detail about everyone living on the
island, as I recall. But you need to know which Camerons you are
descended from, because there are a lot of them.
My grandfather was born in Augustine Cove, PEI.
