Message Board Post:
I am looking for links/information to James Cameron a quarryman who
married Mary Campbell on 8 June 1808 in Moneydie, near Perth,
Scotland. Mary died on 21 April 1867 in Pitcairngreen aged 86 years.
From their census and grave records, James was born in Kenmore on 1
January 1781, and Mary Campbell was born in Fortingall abt 1783.
Together, they had seven children that I know of:
1 - John (a mason who married Jane or Jean Keir in 1833 in Redgorton)
He died in 1867 in Redgorton Parish Church.
2 - Janet who married William Doctor, in Auchtergavin, Perthshire in 1828.
3 - Katherine who was christened in Moneydie in 1812.
4 - Mary Campbell who was christened in Moneydie in 1814.
5 - James who married Elizabeth McAinsh in Crieff in 1842.
6 - Alexander who firsty married Nora Lewith Pratley at Redgorton in
1846, then Anne McDonald at St Mary's RC church, Geelong, Australia
in 1859. He died in 1902.
7 - Peter who was christened in Regorton Parish in 1822.
The first born John who married Jane/Jean Keir had five children that I know of
1 - James born 1834;
2 - janet Miller born 1836;
3 - Jean born 1838 ;
4 - John born 1841 also a mason who married Catharine Stewart at Alloa in 1864.
5 - Charles Keir who married Frances Amelia Quinton on 28 Apr 1870 at
Lancaster, Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
6 - Mary born 1845.
Any connections?
