Hi Hugh,
I would greatly appreciate if you checked if my Andrew Cameron, who married
Elizabeth McPhee, is one of those who might be hanging around your family
tree. They reported being married in Miramichi in 1863/63 in subsequent birth
records in Pictou, Nova Scotia in the 1870's. Andrew Cameron was listed as a
carpenter, ships carpenter, and proprietor at Osbourne House in New Glasgow.
They had a son, William Thomas, in 1865 (New Brunswick). Daughter, Mary
Ann, was born in 1866, PEI. Five more births in Pictou (Daniel, Anthony, John,
Lawrence, and Peter James).
Andrew and his death between 1877- 1880 has remained a secret. Family
rumor says he drown, and that the family was in Canada for many decades. His
widow, Elizabeth Cameron, emigrated to East Boston in 1882. I have lots of
information since then, but can't get any further back.
Elizabeth was born in 1839, daughter of Donald McPhee and Catherine
McDonald. This italicized information was passed to me but not confirmed by me.
Apparently, Andrew Cameron kept a very low profile! If you have a
chance to check for him, I would be very grateful.
Sincerely,
Claire (Cameron) Siebert
