Greetings friends. Today I received an email from Ian Lamond of Bowral, NSW, Australia
and fellow Isle of Tiree descendant who attended the Tiree Gathering in Guelph, Ontario,
Canada in 2004. In Ian's email he wrote of Jean Watson of Clan Lamont, and more, who
is Canada's Scot of the Year for 2007. Congratulations Jean. I wanted to share this
exciting news with my Scottish friends throughout the world.

We are now planning for our Lamont Memorial Day held here at the Fultz House Museum on
June 3. We have a short Memorial Service for the fallen at Toward Castle then a luncheon
in the Museum, soup and sandwiches. Usually about 25 come. Then of course this is the
International Gathering Year in Nova Scotia . We in the Federation of Scottish Clans will
be hosting Lord Semphill from the Council of Standing Chief's in Scotland. He are
coming to talk with us as to how we managed to keep the International Gathering going here
in Nova Scotia as they are thinking of reviving it in Scotland.
I was up to Toronto to receive my award as Scot of the Year for Canada, it was quite a
bash and I had a wonderful time.

Hi there Ian: Great hearing from you and finding you well. We are now planning for our
Lamont Memorial Day held here at the Fultz House Museum down the street from Tom and I.
It will be on June 3. We have a short Memorial Service for the fallen at Toward then a
luncheon in the Museum, soup and sandwiches. Usually about 25 come. Then of course this
is the International Gathering Year in Nova Scotia

Semphill from the Council of Standing Chief's in Scotland. He are coming to talk with

If you look under Electric Scotland on the web you should be able to find all the
pictures.
I am pleased to hear that Jack is well. We had a short note from James the other day
but he seldom replys when you write to him.
Carol is very busy with the Multi-Culture Society which gives her something to look
forward to. Tree roots got into her sewer line so she had to have them ground out (for
the second time in a few years) a very costly affair. Needless to say she is not a happy
camper about that.
Andy is starting to dig up his garden. He puts in a smaller one now as he is not able
to dig up the larger area. He puts in a few beans, cucumbers, etc...It has been a very wet
spell here the past three weeks with the sun just coming out yesterday to show all the
dust and stuff in the house!!!
We have a cat to keep us company now, we got him from the Stewarts so I call him
Prince Charlie.....he had been quite mangled up by a dog when we got him so took a bit of
care at first......a black and white short haired cat but long and slab sided type...not a
cuddly cat but very intelligent and friendly.....I would love to go over to the Stewart
gathering in Scotland this year but don't think I can swing it.......all the best for
now....Jean
