Fred johnson is our family (Gilholm/Cameron) expert. He wrote me that he has sent the two
pages of info he has compiled. It sounds as if we might be cousins .Your Joseph Cameron
and my James Cameron may have been brothers. We do not have any dates when James came to
Mass.as of yet. Best guess is the early 1880's. James and Elizabeth had 2 sons. My
maternal grandfather, John Stanley Cameron, born July 22,1884 in Cape Breton,Nova Scotia.
But as the story goes--they were living in Boston at the time and had gone to Nova Scotia
for a visit and Elizabeth went into labor early and John was born . Son #2 was Gordon
Beecher Cameron, born4/8/1888. I think he was born in Boston. I know that Gordon is
buried in Brookdale Cemetary in Dedham, Mass. he died Nov. 1972. John died in
Charlotte,NC 7/12/1963. Hope this gives you something to work with. I keep hoping I can
go to Boston to verify all of this and go to the cemetary in Dedham to get dates from the
tomb stones. Would l!
ike to know more about your Joseph Cameron and family if you would care to share
information.
