the US? Or , is this list their original destination, and plans could have
changed? I ask because I'm wondering if some of them could have changed
their minds and stayed at a port the ship may have stopped at? Or was this
info. taken from the passengers on arrival to the US?......Thanks for your
input.

Ann,
I have learned through this research that anything is possible with our
ancestors. Just when you think you definitely have the right answer to who
they are or where they were from, you find out that they were somewhere else.
So to answer your question could they have stayed at the town of port, yes,
they could have. I'll give you a little example. I have a Swedish ancestor
that lived in New Orleans, LA and was naturalized in New Orleans. From New
Orleans he moved to MS and stayed there till death. This was back in the
1840's. I searched for a couple of years trying to find the port of arrival
so I could see where in Sweden he was from. Never could. Not the port of
New Orleans, or near by Alabama any port in the areas. 2 years later, I
finally find out that he arrived at the Port of Boston, Mass.,
(I would have never thought to check a port that far away) and that he had
escaped from his Military Ship there and somehow in a 3 year period, worked
his way down to New Orleans.
I couldn't tell you if the info came from the port of departure or the port
of arrival since both ports would have requested the same info of leaving
from and arriving too. The only information that I have is exactly what I
have emailed the list.
I sure wish that I had more to give to help everyone, myself included.
