p8 on mine at top.=letter from Alexander cameron, to Ewen Cameron, younger
of fassifern, regarding Coanich/Caonich, Lochaber.
It seems Alexander wanted to lease this Property .'My' Donald had written
his brother Ewen, (same one as to whom he had written after the battle
previously mentioned).
He obviously changed his mind and Alexander expresses his appreciation of
his own offer being accepted. It also seems he had a specific job relating
to cattle for the Lochiel estates. It seem so to me anyway. If you get on
an Inverness mailing list you just might get lucky.I think you are on the
right track. Kilmallie and Kilmonivaig
feature prominently. OH yes. When you get to p 8 just hit those lines and it
brings up the information of which I write. GO

Subject: Re: [CAMERON] Charles Cameron descendants
Dear Delphine,
Yes, we're listed as #37986. The two others who are shown at no genetic
distance as I recall also went back to a "John Cameron" -- one in Canada,
one in Australia. But they had no paper trails, and we didn't make a
connection.
We did get my brother's DNA extended to 25 markers, but haven't had any
Eureka! moments yet. And from the looks of the DNA, our line is not
descended from your Charles.
Both our great-grandfather and great-grandmother were supposedly
Camerons, and I THINK I have figured out that the maternal
great-great-grandfather was Alexander Cameron, too, and lived on various
Lochiel lands. Beyond that, zilch.
My grandfather was illegitimate and had no known siblings, so we're
stuck there, and having to rely on DNA.
We're not related to any Missouri Camerons (of which there are a
number), as we are fairly recent arrivals here. My father (Alexander, of
course!) and three brothers, George, John, Angus, all immigrated to
Canada; then he and Angus migrated to the US. Long ago and far away. My
brother and one of Angus's grandsons are the only male-male-male
descendants. Well, along with their sons and grandsons.
Good try, anyway!
All the best, Sheila in Missouri
