I am trying to put together the family tree of my g-g-g grandparents
Ewen and Bridget(Higgins)Cameron. This for the most part is all that I
have on the family so far. Most of my information has been taken off of
Canadian census's in the general area of Sombra, Lambton Co., Ontario.
The rest of the information has been sent to me by a researcher that I
hired in Lambton Co., except for the family of Alexander and Sarah
Jane(Cameron)MacDonald, which I have sorted out through relatives. For
the most part I believe all of Ewen and Bridget's children were born
somewhere around the Chatham to Wilkesporte/Sombra area of present day
Ontario. UC= Upper Canada and CW= Canada West are names of this area
depending on the time period leading up to becoming Ontario in 1867.
Ewen Cameron b in Scotland d bef. 1881 in Sombra?, Lambton Co., Ontario
m Bridget Higgins in UC She was b abt. 1812, County Cork, Ireland, d
Sombra?
Their children:
1) Ellen b 1836 in UC
I am not positive this James is part of the family, but his birthdate
appears to fit, and he lived nearby.
2) James b 1838 in UC m Emma R. b 1841 in UC children of James and Emma
a) Charlotte b 1864 in CW
b) Lucy R. b 1866 CW
c) Jessie b 1869 in Ontario
d) Isabella b November 1870 in Ontario
3) Mary b 1846 in UC
4) Malcolm b 1847 in UC married Emelia(Emily) in Lambton Co.,Ontario?
She was b 1856 in Nova Scotia. Children of Malcolm and Emelia are
a) Wilfred E. b 1878 in Lambton Co., Ontario?
b) Allen E. b November 1880 in Lambton Co., Ontario?
5) Sarah Jane b May 6, 1849 possibly in Wilkesporte, Lambton Co. She
married before May 1866 Alexander Ralph MacDonald b March 13, 1843 in
Wilkesporte. Alexander is the son of Hector and Jane(Judson)MacDonald.
Their descendants are for the most part sorted out.
6) Joanna b 1855 in Chatam Twsp., Kent Co., CW. She married on August
19, 1873 James Murray son of Walter Murray and Elizabeth Little. They
were married in Wilkesporte. He was b in 1840 in Dumfrieshire, Scotland
7) Isabella b 1856 in CW
8) Daniel b 1860 in CW
9) James b 1863 in CW ( This one I believe is a grandchild, that lived
with his grandmother? until adulthood)
If anybody here looks like part of your tree, I'd love to hear from
you!
Thanks!
Michael
