I found him, I found him, I really, really found him! With the help of a Mr.
Rieland in Delano, MN. of course. Millie was buried in Delano as was
suspected. He also had an obit for her that he read over the phone for me.
She was very active in the Methodist Church. A whole bunch of "missing"
family like her father and siblings are all living in Delano and I have much
info. on all of them on the way. John J. Cameron is there too. He is buried
in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery a couple of miles down the road. Mr. Rieland
has his obit as well. John is buried in an unmarked grave and Mr. Rieland is
going to help me get a marker. He is a missionary to this cause. He has
placed HUNDREDS of markers on gravesites when he can identify the person
there.
He is also going to aid me in getting markers put on the sites of Millie's
brothers Harrison and Stephan Lyons who were members of the 1st Minnesota
Volunteers in the Civil War. He has worked with the Federal Gov. to do this
for Minnesota Vets. and has had several articles written about him.
Do not fear however, that I am going away now. I still do not know where
John came from in Canada and who his parents are. It looks as though I will
be needing to point my research to other localities.
I am so happy to receive this news. I really appreciate all of you who have
been helping me and cheering me on.
Thanks, Dean Cameron
