Well, now that I have that off my chest, get a load of this. I received the
request back from the Minnesota Gen. Society. They found the death notice in
the Minnesota Tribune but they could not find an obit anywhere. This story
continues to have the most incredible twists and turns. One thing that I
neglected to post previously on Millie's death cert that I have is that it
lists her name as Mille Cameron Cameron. I chalked that up to the
handwriting being hard to read and that they may have re written "Cameron" to
be more legible (which it is).
Her death notice in the paper reads:
Cameron- Millie C. 3244 Humboldt Ave, Dec. 6th tuberculosis, aged 49 years.
I have no previous mention or documents with Millie's middle name. I have
not even begun to try to search Penn. in 1849 for records. I do not even
know what area of Penn they were from. It would be just incredible if her
middle name really was Cameron. It would make me wonder if John and Millie
may have known each other early in life.
For those of you who have seen some of my previous mysteries, in 1870 John
and Millie were just married and the Mille Lacs census read:
John Cameron 25 years b. Canada
P. Cameron 21 years b. Penn
L. Cameron 18 years b. Penn
John had a brother Daniel who died in 1869 also born in Canada. He lived in
the same house. L. Cameron could really be L. Lyons, Millie's little sister
Lucinda who was also born in Penn. Or there could have been a younger
sibling to John who was born in Penn. Or Daniel could have had a young wife.
If you are really confused join the club. I still do not know for sure where
John died and where Millie and John are buried. I am waiting for the
feedback of a researcher in Delano who is going to see if she is buried there.
Well, my head is spinning now. I'll keep ya'll informed as I go.
