I have been looking for ANY record of ancestor Dougald Cameron, born in 1830 somewhere in
Canada, who married Catherine McCormick,
You need most, the marriage and death records for Dougald if finding his
ancestry is your goal. Or the marriage and death records of his
sibling/s.
had two boys in Canada, John and Edward, then moved to Eau Claire
Wisconsin about 1861. I spent a few hours at the library today.
The Wisconsin Census records hopefully! will give his birthplace
occupation and age, maybe that would add leverage to your search. There
are quite a few info sources re Eau Claire, see below:

"Just at the opening of the 19th century two brothers, Roderick
Cameron and John Cameron, came from Marven, Scotland,
That was probably MORVERN, a strong CAMERON area in Argyll-shire,
vicinity of Fort William. The parish registers are dated from 1803, so
research of the ancestry of Roderick and John there might be
unproductive. However there are published memorial inscriptions. Rod and
John are popular CAMERON names. I have three first- cousins, CAMERONS
named Roderick, John and Richard. My father's young brother was named
<Roderick John Cameron>.
In my next life, maybe I'll have a genealogically- friendly name like
Hercules Aardvark.
Does anyone know what Og means?
I regard it merely as a name, a person identifier. Most names have no
specific "meaning".
Guess what? I really don't think he's my guy, but this is all
I have so far. Maybe he's yours?
No, not mine! Thanks for asking ;~)
Cheers.........
