I am sure I entered this thread from the McPherson board. I did not know it was also part
on the Cameron board as well. I would have taken far lesser of a McPherson tact and a
more historically defendable had I known. I guess the original message had been poasted
of both boards maybe through the sir name section.
I have a conciderable amount of Scotish blood in me spanning many clans. I believe I have
a little Cameron (I can not prove it yet). It is the Cameron blood line that I am most
proud of. Who would not be prowd of Sir Ewen? He may have been the last romantic hero
in Europe. When I am a Clan board I enjoy expounding the greatness of the clan excluding
all others. I think I might change my tact for a while or at least be more careful. This
groveling is unconfortable!
I will say I remember reading that some of the Macintosh lands were not setteled
piecefully. He was in England when the fighting began and ended. However, the Crown
blamed Sir Ewan for the breaking of the piece and issued a warrent for his arrest. I DO
remember reading this on the web. This was the Battle of Mulroy (1688) however you are
correct most of the disputed lands were settled piecefully in September, 1665. From what
I have read today, he was knighted more for his keeping the piece than for his fighting.
I found this at
http://members.aol.com/CLANCAM1/history.html. This is the most in depth and historical
site I have found for the Camerons so far.
A humbel clansman begs for your forgiveness!
