As far as I can determine, we have no connection to any Cameron living or
even visiting Jamacia. We do not seem to have any Canadian connection
either although I do not rule this out as it is unknown from where Thomas
Cameron originated - we think that he was born about 1780 in Scotland???

Thanks for your reply to my posting. I learned this past summer that
there were/are several kindreds in the general area of Cornwall, Ontario
who are descended from persons named "John Cameron", at least one of who
is known to have emigrated from the area of Loch Rannoch, Perthshire.
Perhaps one of these "John Camerons" could be a son (or other relative) of
the family I'm interested in (the descendants of John Cameron of
Camghouran & his wife Helen Campbell, married 1752), though according to
the 1792 will of "my" John Cameron, his namesake son John Cameron was
living in Jamaica. I wonder if "your" John Cameron (or any of the Cornwall
area John Camerons) had Jamaica connections?
