Hello everyone on the list!!
I am reposting my info to the list also.
I am still trying to find information on Lavender Cameron. The only
information that I have on him, thanks to Jo, is that he lived in Marion Co.,
SC and that he lived on the Little Pee Dee on Drowning Creek next to the
Fords. He was also witness to some land transactions for the Fords. Below
is the 2 transactions.

$300 50 acres SWs Little Peedee surv for Sineath 18, Nov 1784 by John

Cameron. Pr bef Robert Moody, JQ, 5 Nov 1803. Caty Ford wf of John Ford rdr
8 Nov 1803 bef Robert Moody, JQ, Sig: Catharine Ford, Rec. 25 Nov 1803.
Levander was married to a Hester, no last name, and sometime between
1820-1825 left Marion Co., SC and moved to Marion Co., MS. Levander never
shows up in Mississppi, but Hester Cameron and the below listed children did.
Alford Cameron bn. about 1820 in South Carolina
William Cameron bn. about 1822 in Sourth Carolina
Mary-Caroline Cameron bn. about 1820-1825 in Mississippi.
From the above listed siblings, there is apparently another son that I
have
no name for, other than a possibility of being a Hugh Cameron. A Hugh
Cameron shows up up in 1829 & 1830 paying taxes on some land right next to
Jesse Cameron. This is the only time this Hugh shows up. On the 1850 and
1860 Perry Co., MS census, an Elizabeth Cameron, listed as head of household
along with her children is living next door to the above listed William
Cameron and his family.
Elizabeth Cameron, age 40 from South Carolina. She appears as Head of
Household in the 1850 Perry County, Mississippi Census. Listed with her are:
Abijah/Alijah age 22 born in MS, a farmer,
Sarah age 18, born in MS,
Franklin age 13, born in MS,
Erasmus age 7 born in MS. Erasmus was killed in the Civil War
In the 1860 Perry County, MS she is still listed as Head of Household age 55
from South Carolina. The only other person listed with her at this time is a
Bigsy, male, with a ditto under the name of Cameron, the age is hard to read
but it is either 30 or 36, he is a farmer born in Mississippi.
Elizabeth stays living next to William until his death and then she lives
with William's widow. Because of this, I believe that this Elizabeth Cameron
was sister-in-law to all these Cameron siblings and another male sibling
Cameron that I have no info on. According to these census, Elizabeth would
have been born between 1805-1810.
Thank you,
Lorna
