Heather wrote from faraway OZ:
I am searching for the children of Donald and Janet CAMERON (nee McKinnon) who would have
been married around 1800 in Moy, Kilmallie, Argyll, Scotland.
Alexander was bn Jan 1806 in Ballachulish. I am not related.
They had a son, Alexander CAMERON born about 1801, who came to
Australia in 1839.
Correct, on "BOYNE"
In the 1841 and 1861 Censuses for Moy there seem to appear remnants of
those CAMERON and MCKINNON families. Moy was a wee village.
On the IGI recently through some research (and guess work - Alexander's
children's names) I have come across Mary CAMERON born 1800, and also
Catherine CAMERON born 17 March, 1810 and christened 14 December 1811.
She was also known as Kate. (Parents - Donald Cameron and Jannet
McKinnon, Moy, Kilmallie, Argyll, Scotland).
There are other sources to consider. If you are in NSW then look at the
DENNES RECORDS 17/208, at Society of Aus Genealogists 120 Kent St
Sydney. And look in CAMERON GENEALOGIES on CDROM which has a lot of
Scottish connections for families in AUS and NZ.
Some of the reference numbers on the IGI have FHL US/CAN film. Does
this mean the information has come from Canada?
No I think it merely identifies the catalogue and shelving patterns in
Salt Lake City.

Heather, I am aware that you know much of the above! My story may help
other listers. "no publicity is bad publicity" ;~)
