Hello,
I am back again on this site after being 'out' for a while.
I am still looking for my GG-Grandfather, George W. Cameron. (we think 'W')
I have told this story before but maybe there will be someone else who has
not seen it.
George was born in 1812-1815 in TN. That's it. That info comes from various
census lists. In June 7, 1839 we found him in Livingston County, KY where he
married
Sarah Jones, daughter of Lewis Jones. Sister of Mary Jones. That sister
married on the same day as Sarah.
In the 1840 census he, Sarah, Mary and Mary's husband were neighbors in
Livingston Co., KY. In 1843 George and Sarah had a baby boy named Eli Cameron
there in Livingston Co.
That is the last we know of Sarah. The assumption is that she died in
Childbirth or related illness. But a lot can happen in 7 years between his
birth and the next census
In the 1850 census we found old George in Randolph Co., AR with 7 year old
son, Eli,a woman named Susan and a new baby born in Jan, 1850. We assume she
is his wife. That baby was named Henry and he is my G-Grandfather. In the
1860 census they are all still in Randolph Co. In 1861 & 1863 they had 2 more
children named William and Sarah in Randolph Co., AR
The 1870 census shows some of them still in Randolph Co. Then old George
fades out of the scene just like he came in. Mysteriously.
1880 His wife Susan, Henry, William, and Sarah are found in Madison Co., AR.
Susan is listed as head of household and lives near Henry's homestead.
One more tiny, possible piece in this puzzle is that we believe he had a
brother, Henry.
I need help, advice, encouragement, answers, questions, whatever.
Thanks for listening to my long story,
Laura
