CAMERON, LORETTA Loretta Cameron, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all,
died on December 26, surrounded by her family, after a 6-month battle with cancer. Loved
by all, she will be deeply missed by her husband of almost 55 years, Donald J. Cameron,
and her eleven children--Don, Mike, John, Jim, Gail, Greg, Lori, Bob, Tom, Mark and
Mary--and their spouses and seventeen grandchildren, and her sister Marge and brother
Bern, along with countless friends and acquaintances whose lives she touched. Born Loretta
Marie Osebold in Detroit, Michigan on January 31, 1929, the youngest of nine children of
Loretta Goddeyne and Henry Osebold, she married her high school sweetheart Donald Cameron
on January 29, 1949. They moved to Poway, California in 1961 where, for the next 26 years,
they raised their family. Loretta was actively involved in her children ' s lives,
attending sporting events, school activities and constantly volunteering her time to
others. She had a passion !
for cards, whether playing Crazy Eights with her grandchildren or Bridge with her many
friends. She also worked for the Poway School District as a secretary and as an
Instructional Aide for a number of years. Loretta had a deep religious faith and made
great sacrifices to ensure that all of her children attended Catholic School. She was an
active member of St. Michael ' s Catholic Church of Poway and St. Mark ' s
Catholic Church in San Marcos. The Camerons made their home in San Marcos for the last 15
years. Her positive, loving outlook on life touched everyone who met her. She always tried
to help and comfort others and taught by example that there is much good in everyone. May
her many friends now keep her in their prayers. A Memorial service will be held at St.
Mark ' s Catholic Church, 1147 W. Discovery Street, in San Marcos on Saturday, January
3, 2004 at 10 a.m. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. All are welcome. Donations
in Loretta ' s memory may be made to!
