My name is Marie Bull and I do not have Cameron's in my lineage
but have an
interesting story. My nose is different from everyone in my family and not
liking it very much I wondered where it came from. In the course of searching my
roots I found a copy of my Great Grandparents wedding picture. Low and
behold there was my Great Grandmother with my nose!
Good observation. Your maternal ancestress, whose maiden surname probably differed from
your own, would on average have an equal influence on your appearance as did your other
seven great grandparents. Betcha your uncommon nose is admired by others!
I am told I have the "Cameron nose" similar to my father and his father. But I
also
have the tummy and gait of my mother who was English. The facial features we inherit
are usually a matter of chance. EXCEPT! that with inbreeding, common in early rural
Scotland, biologically linked cousins sometimes married, and when their parents and
grandparents paired as cousins too then I expect there were long-term similarities in
the appearances of descendants....... the hazards of a small "gene pool".
