Learned something today while at the LDS Center near my home which you may
also find interesting. A woman, having children, e.i. widowed, can be
"sealed" to another man who was not her husband in order to complete her
religious cycle of church customs and beliefs. There was some discussion of
this in the room which I am not familiar with, nor even pretend to be, but it
occurred to me that sometimes when we find a female adult on a record with a
man's file, it doesn't necessarily mean they were husband and wife or that
the children are his biological children. I will ask more about this when
time allows at the center for a better and more clear understanding, but am
sharing the thought with you which I had a the time. I'm not projecting this
as an absolute, but from what I heard in the process of using the equipment
to search for my own family. Those of us who are non-members may never even
see such a record as it may be strictly in confidence of church records, but
it left a void in my mind about how this could be, or perhaps is, and that if
we follow those records even as a guide, we may lose our path severely. My
feelings are that it is wonderful that any of these records are shared at
all, and as you say, they warn against using them as facts and they are
simply a guideline for future research. For me, they have been tremendously
helpful to date. Just sharing thoughts. Sunny
