Wow, interesting statistics on Fred, something I was always curious to know.
Ah, to be as light as "cousin" Fred for one race!
Cheers, Scott Cameron 5' 10" 170'ish pounds

1910 Winner: Fred Cameron, Nova Scotia. Time: 2h 28m 52s. One of the true "dark
horses" in Marathon history, Fred Cameron, a twenty-three-year-old clerk, stole this
race by simply going out in front and staying there all the way. Nobody had ever heard of
him and nobody expected such a bold move. Cameron had never run more than ten miles in
his life, much less the testing distance of a marathon. This was also the first Marathon
for a runner named Clarence H. DeMar, a man who would create history by winning this race
no less seven times. DeMar finished second but they would hear more of him in ensuing
years. Sammy Mellor (1902 winner) finished thirty fourth by the way.
