Message Board Post:
I recently received a CAMERON history of the decendants of Donald
CAMERON and Margaret FRASER. Donald was the son of Angus CAMERON.
Donald and his father Angus came to Tryon County in the New York
Colony in 1773, from Scotland. At the outbreak of the American
Revolutionary War, they sided with the English Government, and were
part of the First Battalion of the King's Royal Regiment of New York.
Donald later transfered to the First Battalion of the 84th Regiment,
known as "The Highland Emigrants". After the war, the family moved
to the Stormont area of Canada West (now Ontario).
I am interested in finding out who Donald's Mother was, if there were
any siblings that remained in Scotland. Also, if Angus CAMERON had
any siblings that either immigrated with him to the American Colonies
or remained in Scotland.
Thanks for your assistance.
