Hi List:
Thought I would try one more time in case there are any new people on list. I am still
trying to find out ANYTHING about a William Cameron, who supposedly came to America around
1747. I might be looking for a John, instead of a William. Family history (and everyone
knows how that goes) says his name was William. His gggrandson said he was John. I know
this doesn't make sense.
I do know that William Cameron Jr. was the son of this William/John. I have no birthdate
for William Jr, but he died in Christian County, Ky abt. 1811, leaving a wife Nancy, who
later married William Randolph, whose first wife was Ann Banks of Virginia.
Family history says that William Sr. was one of 4 brothers who came to America from
Scotland around 1745. The other brothers were John, Ewen and Donald. Also it is thought
that he had 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls, and that he was an Episcopalian minister, who
left NC and was in SC, and then possibly Tennessee.
I know this is not much to go on, but just maybe someone might have a stray William that
could be mine.
Thanks for reading this confusing mess.
Sue
