Hi Charles,
I haven't had a chance to make many inquiries regarding Dr. John Cameron,
but I will forward your request to some people who may be able to help. I
thought I saw a reference to Dr. Cameron in a book, either "Mabou Pioneers"
or possibly a history of Inverness Co.. I didn't get my hands on a digital
camera yet, but I will get you a picture of the headstones.
Maybe one of my friends who I am copying this to may be able to help.

Since John Cameron kindly posted the attached note, I have looked up the
census for Inverness county, Nova Scotia, taken in 1891 and found that my
distant gguncle John Cameron MD and his family were living in Port Hood, a
village with a population of 1,646 people at that time. The census
confirms
that all family members were born in Scotland and had Scottish parents.
Their house in Port Hood was of wooden construction, consisting of 11 rooms
on 2 storeys. If anyone has any links to Dr Cameron, who was living in Nova
Scotia between 1885 and 1914, I would be delighted to hear. Thanks again
to
John for his kind assistance.
Best regards,
Charles Cameron

Charles,
Your gguncle John Cameron, MD is buried in Port Hastings Nova Scotia,
just
a few hundred yards from my office . It truly is a small world! I
noticed
the grave because he was born around the same time as my gggrandfather
(1830) and his name caught my eye (for obvious reasons).

Hi Charles,
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/lfhs/
http://www.excel.net/~nclark/
I was trying to find the location of Lincolnshire, not shown on my
Scotland map, and came across these 2 sites, I am sure you know about
them,
as I see you are in Aberdeen.
(I have been looking for gggggrandfather who also went to Canada from
Scotland,
too many Donald Camerons...we need to get all these Donalds together!)
I will forward your email on
to Tom Cameron...who is also interested in Alexanders!
A note of encouragement:
This summer at the Cameron Gathering my Cameron cousin from Australia,
and I stood under our umbrellas, rain & tears downpouring,
gazing on her ancestors graves (a John Cameron, etc) in the
Presbyterian
Cemetery in downtown Ft. William...miracles happen, keep seeking, you
will
find...perseverance pays off!
